International Preschool CurriculumHeadquartered in Florida, USA, the International Preschool Curriculum or IPC meets the NAEYC standards and is internationally recognized. The International Preschool Curriculum consists of 56 Thematic Units that are specifically developed to capture and engage growing young minds. All units encompass six-trans-disciplinary content learning areas: Socio-Emotional, Numeracy/ Math, Language, Science, Creative Arts and Physical/ Motor Skills. Lessons are play-based, multiple intelligence-oriented, inquiry-based, and objective-based. Reading is a key to many things in life that is why the IPC takes a strong approach with the development of emergent literacy through the Robin Phonics Program. |
Jolly Phonics
Aside from the Robin Phonics program of the IPC, we use Jolly Phonics as our main resource for teaching reading. It is a fun and child-certered approach to teaching literacy through synthetic phonics. We use short action songs or phrases for each of the 42 letter sounds. This includes alphabet sounds as well as digraphs such as sh, ch, th, and ai. The two programs, both using multi-sensory methods are highly motivating for the children. Sounds are taught in a specific order (not alphabetically). This enables children to begin building words as early as possible. The five skills taught in Jolly Phonics: 1.Learning the letter sounds - Children are taught the 42 main letter sounds. 2. Learning letter formation - Using different multi-sensory methods, children learn how to form and write the letters. 3.Blending - Children are taught how to blend the sounds together to read and write new words. 4.Identifying the sounds in words (Segmenting) - Listening for the sounds in words gives children the best start for improving spelling. 5.Tricky words - Tricky words have irregular spellings and children learn these separately.

Kids Perform
All our pupils attend a once a week Performing Arts and Movements Class. Weekly workshops are thoughtfully planned to align with the current lessons or theme. Through this program, we empower the children to unleash their creativity, to build their confidence, to develop positive discipline and foster good relationships with others . At the end of certain thematic units, the teachers and pupils prepare a culminating activity which aims to reinforce the lessons learned and give the children lasting memories with their peers and parents.
